New Zealand busses, 1914, driver comfort was non-existent, a hard bench seat and no windscreen

This was agreed to by the borough council and the buses were built from Leyland and Dennis chassis.

A.C. Watson was contracted to build busses for Timaru on the site of the present Temuka Transport, Wood St.

When delivered, the council refused to accept the first bus because it had glass windows. There were held to be dangerous, and Watson's had to remove the glass and install pull down blinds.
